MIDO 2020: CASE2green and 3R are the new Fedon mantras

The path towards environmental sustainability undertaken by Fedon over the past few years continues.
This year at Mido 2020 we will present not only a new proposal for Eyewear cases that are sustainable , but also a completely redesigned exhibition area.
Trees and meadows, recycled microfibres cloth around the imposing chandeliers and wood recovered from the Belluno forest areas affected by VAIA storm, transformed into shelves and tables, will transport you into a new fair dimension.
The CASE2green label
The respect for the environment has always been important to the Group. In fact during the latest years a dedicated R&D team works constantly on innovation and sustainable projects.
The team's first major achievement was the study of the "CASE2green" eco label, capable of guaranteeing and quantifying the environmental impact of an eyewear case.
The new collections that Fedon brings to Mido 2020, identifies in the 3Rs policy: REDUCE - REUSE - RECYCLE.

A fabric that comes from the oceans
3R: Reduce
Forbito is an elegant eyewear case with minimal lines which, when closed, reduces its size by 60%, significantly cutting volumes, storage and shipping costs as well as CO2 emissions associated with its transport.
Modern and space-saving, this eyewear case with an innovative design presented at Mido 2020, is covered in Elastan, a material derived from the recycling of fishing nets recovered at sea, which is among the first polluting factors of our oceans.

3R: Reuse
Diplo is not only an eyewear case but also a business card holder or coin holder thanks to its second pocket, positioned under the main compartment for the frame. This case was born from the ethics idea of reusing objects, avoiding waste and production of new waste.
Diplo stands out not only for its structure but also for the materials with which it is coated.
Its two closing flaps are made with a material deriving from the recycling of polyvinyl butyral or PVB, often used in the intermediate layer of safety glass, for example in the windshield of cars.
A second life for the leather
3R: Recycle
Pliko is the minimal eyewear case, friend of the environment.
Fedon presents this innovative eyewear case in Salpa, or regenerated leather: a material obtained through shredding processes and subsequent recomposition of leather scraps.
Pliko is eco-friendly not only for the manufacturing processes and the materials used, derived from recycling processes but also for its long and narrow shape. This eyewear case has a reduced size which leads to a reduction in shipping volumes and a consequent reduction in CO2 emissions in the air due to its transport.
It is also made starting from a single band of material and assembled with a single seam. These two characteristics significantly reduce the environmental costs for its production.
